It's referencing Yggdrasil Labyrinth (Released as Etrian Odyssey in the US)--An extremely hardcore dungeon-crawler. It does things like force make you draw your own map (Actually a fairly common thing in older dungeon-crawlers, but it's pretty rare these days).

It's a game that would be on my list if only I really played dungeon-crawlers--I'm much more of a story-oriented RPG person XD
